Product Design & Development

Our in-house product design team combines industrial design with mechanical engineering to develop products that are both market-competitive and optimised for efficient injection mold manufacturing. Before any design work begins, we conduct thorough market and feasibility research to ensure the end product meets real customer demand while remaining cost-effective to produce at scale.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in the OEM production field, we understand the tooling and production challenges that arise during mass manufacturing — and we address them proactively at the design stage. Our DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review process helps clients avoid costly late-stage design changes.

Rapid Prototyping Services

We offer a full range of rapid prototyping methods to suit every stage of product development — from early concept validation to pre-production functional testing. Our team selects the most appropriate and economical prototyping process based on your timeline, accuracy requirements, and intended use.

Available prototyping methods include: 3D printing (FDM, SLA, SLS), CNC-machined prototypes, vacuum casting, rotational molded prototypes, and injection-molded prototypes. All surface finishing, painting, and pad printing work is completed in our clean-room facility to ensure presentation-grade results.

High-Precision Injection-Molded Prototypes

Beyond standard rapid prototypes, HWPD specialises in high-precision injection-molded prototypes — particularly for components used in automotive systems, communication equipment, and medical instruments where dimensional accuracy and material performance are critical.

Our injection-molded prototypes are produced using the same injection mold tooling process and real production-grade plastic materials as mass-production parts. This means the prototype's dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and mechanical properties are directly representative of the final production component.

Production-equivalent material properties

Same injection mold process as mass production

Tighter dimensional tolerances

Shorter overall development cycle

Reduced development cost

Faster new product launch

Our prototype injection molds can serve dual purposes: engineering validation during new product development, and small-batch pre-production runs before committing to full production tooling.

Precision Injection Mold Manufacturing

In addition to prototype molds, HWPD is a leading medium-to-large professional injection mold manufacturer in China, with over 20 years of dedicated expertise in producing high-precision structural molds for the automotive, medical device, communication equipment, and office automation sectors. Our facility is equipped with advanced CNC machining centres, EDM machines, and high-precision measurement systems operated by experienced tooling engineers.

Our injection mold technology portfolio covers a comprehensive range of specialised processes:

Overmolding — bonding two materials or components within a single mold cycle

Two-shot (2K) molding — producing two-material parts in one injection cycle

In-Mold Decoration (IMD) — integrating surface graphics within the mold

In-Mold Labeling (IML) — embedding labels during the injection process

Hot runner systems for large, complex molds requiring precise gate control
